Welcome to my award winning photography work where my life's passion is to raise awareness of our oceans, showcasing local images created here in Dorset of our underwater world as well as marine wildlife from across the globe such as sharks, whales, dolphins, turtles and much more.

I'm Maria, I've been run over twice (not a joke - by a police car and then 20 years later by a lorry), a passionate shark stalker, best-selling author who has been a dedicated ocean advocate since 1997 supporting many marine conservation organisations worldwide and even going undercover at a shark and manta ray fishing market in Indonesia to help collect data of numbers being fished to pass onto Aquatic Alliance, The Manta Trust and Project Aware to help get mantas protected through the CITES Convention held in Bangkok in 2013, where five shark species and two species of manta rays were promised more protection. I was also a proud British Divers Marine Life Rescue Marine Medic for Dorset and have raised thousands of pounds for UK marine conservation organisations, disabled divers, the RNLI and local good causes through my work.

I love showing visitors the incredible marine life that we can find on our shores and how beautiful recycled products can be made from single-use plastic and keeping our oceans clean.

I also give motivational and photography talks, write for magazines, create unique handmade cards, gifts and prints here in the studio from my images and love to chat all things marine conservation. Every sale made goes back into helping my local community through litter picks above and underwater

My first book on underwater photography (first published by Wiley Publishers - that's the creator of the "Dummies Brand") has been the 5th Best-Selling Book in the world. You can see all of my photography work on my sister site at www.oceanvisionsphotography.co.uk.
