World Mental Health Day
There's no better feeling than going out to help the ocean after it's helped my well-being so much. This summer has been all about keeping Swanage Bay clean, making sure than when me and my guests see litter underwater, that we pick it up. From wet wipes to plastic, eco crabbing nets that have become stuck on the underwater reef environment, and even the Daily Mail Wine Section (which was being read by a Shrimp Family when I found it) it's been quite eye-opening to see how it's accepted as the "norm" by passers-by. I even managed to rescue a...
Fabulous Night at the Ocean Film Festival, Poole Lighthouse
What an incredible evening it was being back as part of the Ocean Crew at the Poole Lighthouse last week welcoming a packed house of 600 ocean loving guests to this incredible event. The films were once again beyond incredible. I've absolutely loved helping the Ocean Film Festival for the past four years both at their Christchurch and Poole venues, helping to promote the importance of ocean conservation and the incredible products by Buff, Finisterre, Dry Bones, Marvellous Maps and SueMe Clothing. This year was even more special as I gifted one of my Underwater Photography Courses for Beginners/Snorkelling Courses...

Snorkelling Summer in Swanage
It really has been an incredible few weeks introducing so many guests to our beautiful Swanage Pier and showing them the incredible amount of marine life that we have here in the bay. But the courses were also about safety, teaching them about snorkelling equipment, developing skills, teaching them about safety and combining all of this into a 4 hour experience with a Scuba Schools International Snorkel Diver recognition certificate to match. It's been incredible to have received so much incredible feedback through emails, text messages and Facebook posts. A huge thank you to everyone who has come along...

This summer has literally just flown away and I'm completely blown away with the success of helping encourage newcomers to take their first fin steps into our beautiful ocean world. I was so nervous about launching this project, but I'm hugely grateful to the Swanage News for publishing it earlier this year on World Ocean's Day. It's definitely been a rollercoaster of a summer, but to hear so many younger guests fall in love with the ocean life around them has been a complete dream You can read the full story here:- https://www.swanage.news/new-snorkel-school-explores-life-beneath-swanage-pier/
