What a fabulous weekend it was helping the Wild Swimming Co to run snorkelling expeditions and then helping a lady with her confidence to experience our UK waters for the first time.
There was fun, friends and laughter at the festival itself with swims, sauna, recycled gift shops such as The Accidental Wonky Bag company and the beautiful sunshine graced us on Saturday. I met fellow travellers who had just returned from Raja Ampat and spread the word about the important work of the Marine Conservation Society. What was heartmelting was to see these guests pick up litter too in the water.
And then came the most incredible finale to the day, helping this lovely lady to get over her fear of snorkelling and giving her the confidence to wear a snorkel mask for the first time and learn how to breathe underwater. Within 30 minutes she was off on her way to Swanage Pier without even realising that she was there! I cried happy tears and she was pretty welled up too!
It really was an incredible weekend, even if the weather was against us on the Sunday and the hughest thank you to The Wild Swimming Co for inviting me along.
