There's no doubt that the Olympus TG7 is an incredible camera to help a beginner capture the vibrant beauty of our underwater world and delivers particularly incredible detail of small subjects. Debbie was recently awarded a bursary by the Purbeck Arts Festival to develop her underwater photography skills and also has an upcoming trip to Bonaire so it was a complete pleasure to help her master her camera for both the UK environment as well as prepare for her trip.
She also had a Sealife camera and Video Light which she hadn't used before, so we went through all her camera settings, exploring which ones are the most suitable for both environments using both natural and artificial light. She even discovered that she had a "red light mode" which is perfect for capturing shyer night time creatures such as mandarin fish.
We spent the whole day combining settings and experimenting with different angles and perspectives to make sure that she had a good solid knowledge of her camera before her trip. She also grabbed some beautiful stickers to put on her dive box from the amazing conservation organisation Project Seagrass.
This is what she had to say:
"Had an awesome day with Maria and her presentation was put together really well. I learnt so much to make the most of both of my cameras and normally all of this would have gone straight over my head. It was a very relaxed one-to-one course with lots of fun and scrummy biscuits. I would highly recommend Maria. I learnt so much today, thank you for everything."
Thanks so much too Debbie for such an amazing day, it was a complete pleasure helping you and I can't wait to see the pictures from your trip. Have fun!
