I'm still pinching myself to believe that my ocean passion has now reached all of my local papers here in Dorset over the past couple of weeks. It's really incredible to think that over the past 12 years since I came to Dorset whilst living on the road covering hospital and care shortages in my campervan that I could actually achieve a dream, especially with a worsening disability.
But here I am and a huge thank you to them all. The Bournemouth Echo and Swanage Advertiser literally had goosebumps when they saw my studio which made me feel so proud. Their article focused on my studio, my story of recovery after being run over my both a police car and a lorry, and my new children's book on Swanage together with the new range of bracelets made from recycled ghost nets from both Chesil Beach and Swanage which I've rescued the past few years.
The Purbeck Gazette featured my new idea of picking up trash under the sea here in Swanage. I was shocked to find out how many crab nets I found discarded beneath the waves, amongst other things. I started volunteering with the Marine Conservation Society earlier this year to help me overcome my new injuries from NHS life which helped me immensely and I loved exploring our local coastline and helping our local seas at the same time.
I can't wait for these winds to pass and get back to my ocean home to start my winter adventures and see what I can find.
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my work over the years. It's incredible to see where the journey from Carl Safina's book "Song for the Blue Ocean" which documented the troubles our oceans faced back in 1995 has taken me and that I'm just as passionate about helping our seas after all these years.
