I was really humbled and so proud to have been asked to give the Royal Photographic Society's first ever online talk to help beginners get started in underwater photography just over a week ago which sold out in record time. 15 guests from across the country joined me for 2 hours as I chatted through different options of starting out with a phone, Go Pro or using a compact camera and various accessories. No sooner had I finished at 8 pm, I was receiving incredible feedback just a few minutes later.
"You came across brilliantly - a great mixture of warmth and very human, plus so much knowledge and experience. You explain things so well too." Sarah
"Just a note to say thanks for your excellent RPS presentation on Zoom last night. Really clear and helpful." Steve Malone
It was the strangest feeling doing a full circle from when I was the first person to ever receive a Distinction from the Royal Photographic Society back in 2007 for my portfolio taken with both a digital compact camera and a d-SLR, but it was incredible to be able to share all my knowledge since then to help others gain confidence to choose the correct equipment and develop their skills. I'm so happy that I could help them all and we had lots of great chats and fun too.
The hughest thank you to the Royal Photographic Society for inviting me along and to Backscatter USA for allowing me to use their images as well as Mikes Dive Store in London for their support too to create this event. Really looking forward to the next one that I'm helping them with in December.
