It was the most amazing weekend helping Carolyn to develop her snorkelling skills here at Swanage Pier with the SSI Snorkel Diver Course. In just a few hours she learnt all about what was the best equipment to choose to snorkel, from wetsuits to masks and of course snorkels, exploring the different times of the year and what extra kit might be needed. We went over skills from finning techniques to mask clearing skills and then put it all into practice at Swanage Pier.
We were so lucky that the weather behaved and it was the perfect day to explore after all the winds and storms that we had had this week. We had the pier all to ourselves and Carolyn quickly fell in love with the marine life and structure of the pier itself.
Before we knew it, we'd been in for over an hour with Carolyn loving the effect that my Mares torch made underwater and capturing the marine life with her Olympus Tough TG7. She absolutely loved it and I absolutely loved seeing her skills and passion for the underwater world grow so quickly in less than half a day. Huge well done and thank you for travelling all the way from Somerset to see me.
